Short Statement
I am a Hungarian artist, living and working in Nottingham, England.
Within my practice, I am concerned with themes surrounding belonging and home. I am especially interested in how patterns and ornamentation are embedded in our understanding of history and culture.
I often apply folklore motifs as a vehicle for changing the context and meaning of objects of memory. Suitcases and maps are made dysfunctional through the perforation of the material surface communicating the vulnerability of our sense of shelter and habitation.
Classical ornamentation and lace are combined with contemporary ideas to reflect the constant changes in aesthetic codes, and the relationship between the human and object world.
